The alternate cooking instructions are to bake at 350¡ for an hour or so. It's pretty loosey goosey, I think. I think the flavors are supposed to "marry." Gack. Next thing they'll be expecting them to have babies, too.
One onion is silly? Beats me. I mixed it all and put the crockpot on at 7:00 this morning. Should be good enough to eat by noon.
Potato salad with reds? That's all I ever use for potato salad when I make it. Recipe? Not exactly. I peeled the warm spuds (about 8, maybe 1-1/2 - 2" diameter average) last night and doused them with some Wishbone Italian Vinaigrette stuff. I threw in some chopped onions and what celery I had (maybe 1/2 - 3/4 cup). It all sat in the fridge overnight and I will shortly mix in the mayo after I figure a way to thin it out some. It's really thick. I may add some radish slices - I think I've got a couple in the fridge that could be cleared out.
Amazing "pasta" recipeI just made this, and it was so amazingly tasty it would be great for low-carbers and "normal"(!) people alike, so thought I...
I gotta figure out something for dessert. It's looking seriously like Peach Something over vanilla ice cream (Edy's, a buck a pint last week) since I couldn't leave the lug of peaches in the supermarket last night. Mama allus said, "You have to can when the fruit is ready, Barbie, not when you're ready." God rest her weary soul. The Colorados are in. $20 at Cub for a lug of size 50s. WeGonnaBeJammin'.
I think the Peach Something is going to look like peeled and diced peaches dripped with some OJ and Triple Sec and macerated (I like fancy words - makes people think I know more than I do) for a while. I'm considering mixing in some Bing cherries, too, but that would mean I'd have to pit them. OTOH, some frozen berries (blues and red rasp are available to me) added to the peaches wouldn't be all bad. Maybe the red raspberries. Peaches and raspberries are a good combination. :-) I don't use Melba's Jammin' for no reason, doncha know.
I think I'll go make those sandwiches now. It's almost 8:00. -- -Barb Princess "If it's not worth doing to excess, it's not worth doing at all."
